Attention Fish Lovers

If you’re a fish lover like I am, you probably enjoy eating fish delicacies, or maybe you prefer to go fishing, catch your own fish and cook it over an open fire, that's great also.

I’ve been a fish lover all my life. My earliest recollection with fish dates to when my mother forced a daily dose of cod liver oil down my throat. Years later, I thanked her for torturing me with those spoonfuls of vicious slime extracted from the liver of a healthy cod.

So, imagine how I felt after reading the Federal fish consumption advisories and contaminant data . How can I think of fishing as a wholesome endeavor anymore? What does the future hold? If the EPA does not aggressively pursue this problem, instead of standing hip deep in a cold stream waiting for a fish to slash its mouth on my hook, my future as a fisherman may involve casting my angler in a sludge filled stream containing mutant fish, this is disturbing.

Best of Sugarhill Gang: Rapper's Delight
Ray's Way back machine (I remember when)

"Rapper's Delight" was probably the first rap song that most Americans heard if they grew up in the late 1970's and early 1980's. It featured Chic's bass line from Good Times, and was topped by the infectious rhymes of super rappers Mater Gee, Wonder Mike and Big Bank Hank. I was feeling that song as a teen, blasting it on the alpine as I cruised down the pike in my 1979 Cougar XR7 (if that car was still around and could talk, it would have a tale to tell), "Hotel, Motel Holiday Inn, If your girl starts acting up than you take her friend". Heck! I just had a flashback.

A Cleveland man hopes to set a world record by making love to 20 women (climaxing each time) in one day. I'll be more impressed if he can perform this feat without being called a "one minute man" by any of the women.

ANDY ROONEY: Sex and the Catholic church
"The Catholic Church has never recognized that sexual desire cannot be suppressed by resolve. Having sex isn't something anyone can decide not to do and then never do it. The church was unrealistic when it established rules that put both marriage and sex outside the boundaries of acceptable behavior for priests. The church might as well have ordered church bells not to ring."

Ray's Way Back machine
a snapshot of my wedding day. The obligatory sideburn and mustache as well as the afro were standard back then. And even on this special day, being "cool" was the order of the day. Certainly, it was a match made in heaven and a union sealed with a promise and a kiss. Many years later (very many), the journey continues and the promise has been kept.

Latest study
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - "New research suggests that not only are men not afraid of commitment, but they may want it just as much as women do.

In what researchers say contradicts the evolutionary idea that women naturally seek a single, long-term mate while men prefer to play to the field, the study found that both sexes typically want a lasting, monogamous relationship." LINK

Why the rich get richer "Exotic and complicated investements, unavailabe to the rest of us ..."

"Value chain arbitrage. Pair trades. Seagulls. Restructuring plays. Forget hedge funds. These are the true exotics of the investment world. Chances are you have never heard of them. Chances are better that you will never have access to them.

Only the rich, the liquid rich, get to play on this field. The rest of us, with our brokerage accounts and mutual funds, can heed the dusty old advice: Diversify, stay in for the long term, and forget about stock picking, because you will fail and look like a fool in the process."

The Trail of Tears is a tragic tale of force winning over decency and power winning over justice. While the focus today remains on the route traveled and the journey itself, for eight years prior to the event Cherokee were confronted with their future on a daily basis. Illegal stockades were built on Cherokee land, intended to house Cherokee people long before their forced journey on "The Trail of Tears."
